As a benchmark of China's vocational education reform, Chongqing Vocational University of Electronic Science and Technology (CVUET) has recently reached an in-depth co-operation with Chongqing Nanfang Flame Retardant Wire and Cable Co. With its full range of flame-retardant cable products and intelligent solutions, Southern Flame Retardant Cable successfully supplied cables to the university's University City Campus infrastructure upgrading project, building a secure base for the intelligent transformation of this leading vocational education institution in the west.
As one of the first undergraduate vocational universities in China, Chongqing Vocational University of Electronic Science and Technology (CVUET) has four campuses in University Town, Beibei, Yongchuan and Liangjiang, carrying the teaching and research needs of more than 22,000 teachers and students. The upgrade focuses on key scenarios such as training bases, intelligent buildings, and Internet of Things centres, which puts forward stringent requirements on the fire performance, data transmission efficiency and environmental adaptability of cable products.
The solutions provided by Nanfang Flame Retardant Cable cover eight categories of products, including high, medium and low-voltage power cables, low-smoke halogen-free flame-retardant control cables and pre-branching cables. Among them, the WDZBN-BYJ low-smoke halogen-free cables designed for dense places, with an oxygen index of 38% or more, produce only a tiny amount of white smoke and release no toxic gases in case of an open fire, which is a perfect match for the school's ‘Intelligent Campus Construction Safety Specification’ in the Class A fire safety standards. The WDZA-YJY cables provided belong to low-smoke halogen-free flame retardant Class A cross-linked polyethylene insulated polyethylene sheathed power cables. This kind of cable has low smoke volume during combustion, no release of toxic gases such as hydrogen halide, complies with the Class A flame retardant requirements stipulated in GB/T 19666-2005, has a light transmission rate of not less than 60%, a pH value of not less than 4.3, and an electrical conductivity of not more than 10 μs/mm.
This cooperation marks a key step in the ‘14th Five-Year Plan’ of Chongqing Vocational University of Electronic Science and Technology. With the in-depth participation of national brands such as Southern Flame Retardant Cable in vocational education infrastructure, the western highland of vocational education is accelerating the formation of a new paradigm of ‘safe, intelligent and green’ campus construction, which will provide a solid guarantee for the cultivation of great master craftsmen.
