On 6 June, during the 24th National Work Safety Month, NANFANGZURAN Electrical Cable Co., Ltd. organised a series of targeted and comprehensive training activities under the theme of ’Everyone Talks About Safety, Everyone Knows How to Respond to Emergencies – Identifying Safety Hazards Around Us.’ Through safety knowledge training, summer heatstroke prevention skills training, and fire safety drills, the company comprehensively enhanced employees' safety awareness and emergency response capabilities, laying a solid safety foundation for the company's high-quality development.
In the conference room, Zhang Kewei, the company's safety officer, led a comprehensive safety knowledge training session for all employees. The training combined the production characteristics of the wire and cable industry, deeply analysed typical accident cases such as mechanical injuries, electrical fires, and illegal operations, and emphasised core safety standards such as ‘three violations and three no's’ and ‘three-level safety education.’ Zhang Kewei pointed out, ‘There are no small matters in work safety. The production of every cable must be based on safety.’ He required all employees to strictly implement their job safety responsibilities, strengthen their ability to identify hidden dangers, and achieve ‘early detection, early reporting, and early disposal.’
During the heatstroke prevention training session, Southern Flame Retardant collaborated with the Community Health Service Centre of the Chongqing Municipality Banan District Highway Logistics Base to conduct specialised training on heatstroke prevention and cooling measures. Hospital experts began by explaining the physiological mechanisms of heatstroke, systematically detailing the identification and emergency procedures for severe conditions such as heatstroke and heat cramps, and demonstrated key operational points such as physical cooling and rehydration with salt-containing beverages. Additionally, the training addressed specific measures for production workshop environments, including ‘reasonably adjusting work schedules, providing heatstroke prevention supplies, and strengthening health monitoring,’ to ensure employees' safety during the summer. This training innovatively adopted a “theory + practical” model, organising employees to participate in emergency rescue simulations and demonstrating critical skills such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation and electrical shock first aid to ensure that every employee could master emergency response procedures.
In the fire prevention and fire extinguisher practical training session, the event specially invited fire safety instructors from Chongqing Limin Fire Safety Company to analyse typical fire cases, highlighting risks such as ageing electrical wiring and unauthorised use of open flames, and providing detailed explanations of the appropriate scenarios and operational steps for dry powder fire extinguishers and carbon dioxide fire extinguishers. During the practical training session, employees were divided into groups for fire extinguishing drills. Instructors corrected common mistakes such as ‘failure to remove the safety pin’ and ‘incorrect spray angle’ on-site to ensure everyone passed the training.
In addition to specialised training, Southern Flame Retardant also promotes safety knowledge through activities such as ‘Safety Awareness Consultation Day’ and ‘Hazard Exposure Platform,’ bringing safety education into workshops and teams. Meanwhile, company management leads by example, taking oaths and signing safety production responsibility agreements to enforce the principle of ‘shared responsibility between party and government, and dual responsibility for each position.’
In the future, Southern Flame Retardant will continue to deepen safety hazard inspections and rectifications, improve its emergency management system, and use high-level safety measures to safeguard high-quality development.
